Orin Jackson, founder, builder, and the man with a dream in action, will be at Farm House Collection, Jamesport, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 27. He is excited to meet local veterans and their families.

Orin started in 1999 assisting and working with veterans finding all sorts of programs available but none with a real place where veterans could find rest, relaxation, treatment and/or counseling all in a peaceful country setting, at zero cost to veterans for their stay.

His 100 acre farm near Green City has become just that.  Hickory Hills Veterans Lodge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant and offers treatment in the form of group or individual counseling, PTSD counseling, and other special needs. The lodge has greeted approximately 100 guests since opening.

The Missouri countryside offers rest, fishing, and hiking trails. And the veterans can take part in planting trees and seeds, or helping with the final stages of building and upkeep of the lodge’s acreage. Hickory Hills also connects veterans with a built-in network of support. Veterans donate time to talk and walk with those in need of support or just an ear to listen.

Orin Jackson is excited to meet with veterans, family members, friends, police or firefighters to explain or answer questions on Saturday. He will provide more details about the Lodge and how you can take advantage of the help it offers. For more info, visit www.hickoryhillsveteranslodge.org.
