Cheryl Cornett has been hired as the new administrator at the Pattonsburg Multi-Purpose Center. Her first day on the job will be May 30.
Mrs. Cornett was born and raised in Coffey and graduated from the town’s high school. She received a B.S. in elementary education from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph; an MS in elementary administration from Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville; and an Ed.S., superintendent, from Northwest Missouri State University.
She was previously employed as an elementary teacher, elementary principal, and superintendent at the Pattonsburg R-2 School. The last two years she served as administrator at the Maysville/DeKalb County Senior Citizen’s Center.
She and her husband Larry have two children, Valerie Leazenby of Cameron and Rob Cornett of Hamilton.
Judy Peters is filling in during the interim at the Multi-Purpose Center. Mrs. Peters was the administrator at the center when it was first built, 21 years ago. It was finished on Sept. 30, 1996.
