Vaughn Walters, former Daviess County Conservation agent, is pictured with a 1915 Canvasback Drake, carved by Mason Decoy Factory, made special order for Wendell Gun Club from North Carolina; a Bluebill Hen, carved by Robert Capriola from California, made out of redwood; and a Black-Bellied Prover, carved by Jamie Reason from New York.
The fourth annual North Central Missouri Hunting and Fishing Collectibles Show will be held June 2 and 3 at the Litton Ag Campus-Jenkins Expo Center, 10780 LIV 235, Chillicothe.
The buy, sell and trade show will be held from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The show features historic and collectible pre-1964 firearms, duck decoys, fishing lures, game calls, shell boxes, traps, reels, books, sporting art, advertising, catalogs, cabin décor, antiques, hunting and fishing equipment, and much more.
Charley Miller will again be at the show with many of his handmade turkey, duck, goose and other game calls, as well as other examples of his work.
A well-known artist, John Eberhardt, will have a display of his work. Sam Delavan will also be at the show with his trap display, a very interesting part of the show’s history.
Andy Schoneich and Terry Smart co-authored “Evans Decoys,” a comprehensive book. Andy Schoneich will be at the show to sign his new book for those who purchase a copy.
The show provides an opportunity to enjoy and purchase examples of hunting and fishing heritage. Admission is $5. Children 12-and-under are free with adult paid admission. For information, contact Scott Luetticke at 660-247-3150 or Ron Willis at 660-973-6232.
