Frank Wheeler, Activities Director at Blue Springs High School since 2012, has announced he will retire at the end of June, after 31 years of coaching, teaching, and administration.  Wheeler has been responsible for the direction and organization of 19 varsity athletic teams, underclass athletic teams, activities that fall under the MSHSAA umbrella, their coaches and sponsors, and other extracurricular activities at BSHS.

Frank has been with the Blue Springs district since the 1996-97 school year and served as the Head Boys Basketball Coach for 15 years prior to being named the Director of Activities. He is a Northwest Missouri native, graduating from Jameson,  in 1980. Wheeler attended college in St. Joseph at Missouri Western State University where he played basketball for the Griffons. After college Frank had coaching stints at Albany High School (five years), William Jewell College (one year), and Platte County High School (six years) before settling in Blue Springs.
