County Commission
James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, met with commissioners to discuss issues around the county. Crews completed placing rip-rap in Grand River Township, cleared a log jam in Washington Township, and finished laying running boards on a bridge in Sheridan Township. A corrugated metal pipe in Marion Township will be placed this week by crews.
Pam McNeel, treasurer-collector, submitted her training certificate of hours from the Missouri County Collectors Association for 2017. Kayla Michael, public administrator, submitted her training certificate of hours from the Missouri Association of Public Administrators for 2017.
Commissioners reviewed the Bridge Engineering Assistance Program (BEAP) study from Howe and Company for bridge #2000011 on 185th Street in Sheridan Township.
Commissioners reviewed the Bridge Engineering Assistance Program (BEAP) study from Shafer, Kline & Warren for bridge #1100011 on Prairie Avenue crossing Muddy Creek in Jackson Township.
Linda Hughes discussed 175th Street in Colfax Township regarding maintenance and opening of the road. Commissioners referred her to the township board.
A courthouse employee discussed smoking policies and regulations in the courthouse with commissioners. The issue will be referred to the Central Dispatch Emergency Services Board at their board meeting on May 25.
Keith Sutton discussed township issues regarding CART rock, maintenance of roads, and brush removal.
John Dwiggins, Howe and Company, discussed the BEAP study that was submitted to commissioners. Howe and Company will get an estimated cost for this project, Bridge #2000011 on 185th Street in Sheridan Township.
The BEAP study for Prairie Avenue in Union Township was reviewed. Discussion was held comparing the completion of a new bridge to the use of corrugated metal pipes, which would require three 8-foot culverts and raising the section of road. Soft match balances were also discussed for other projects.
Commissioners signed “Chief Local Elected Officials Consortium Agreement” with the counties of Andrew, Buchanan, Clinton, DeKalb, Caldwell, Grundy, Harrison, Linn, Livingston, Mercer, Putnam, Sullivan, Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway, and Worth.
Carmelo Hernandez discussed roof and water issues in the prosecuting attorney’s office on the third floor.

In Vanderbilt Mortgage vs. Ashley Chadwick and Jason Chadwick, judgment for replevin was entered against the defendants.
Civil cases filed: Department of Revenue Collections Enforcement vs. Donald and Nancy Von Opitz, certificate of lien, DOR, taxes. A petition involving property boundaries was filed April 26 by Rickey D. Shepherd Sr., Jamesport, against Jerome Weber, Jamesport.
Associate Circuit Court
Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $68.50 for moving traffic violations and $116.50 in most criminal cases. Judge Daren L.
