Heather Garlick is pictured in front of her newly purchased building on the square in Gallatin.
Heather Garlick has purchased the two-story brick building on the corner of the southwest side of the courthouse square in Gallatin.
Heather bought the lot from Ally Shubert and closed on the building March 31.
She said the building will be her residence and her current priority is getting the building’s upstairs move-in ready. The roof has been repaired and the plumbing and electrical work is in process. She is also planning to get the furnace replaced and install central air.
The brick on the outside of the building is also on her to-do list and she said she is “chipping away at it.”
“I do hope to have a business in the downstairs,” she said. “People ask what type of business it will be and I can’t answer that yet. There are many possibilities. At this point I’m just excited for the potential of what is to come and that I will be preserving part of our town’s history.”
Heather is the daughter of Charles and Cheryl Garlick (Garlick Body Shop) of Gallatin. She graduated from GHS in 1992 and currently works at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. She has two children. Her daughter Madeleine Kozar is 16, and her son Linkin Garlick will be two in August.
