Gallatin R-5 music students competed at the Missouri State Music Festival in Columbia on April 28. Gallatin’s vocal instructor is Sheryl Warren. Gallatin’s band instructor is Xandria Obico.

Vocal students who presented solos received the following ratings: Exemplary Rating (I) – Blythe Hunter; Outstanding Rating (II) – Emily Andersen, Meredith Riley, Savannah Riley, and Brigham Steele; Satisfactory Rating (III) – Destiny Owings.

The miscellaneous girls’ vocal ensemble comprising Jessica Craig, Megan Redman, Emily Andersen, Macie McNeely, Savannah Riley, Blythe Hunter, Sarabeth Michael, and Ayrica Stufflebean received an Outstanding Rating (II).

The Miscellaneous Mixed Ensemble comprising Savannah Riley, Kaia Mehlberg, Blythe Hunter, Meredith Riley, Sarabeth Michael, Brigham Steele, and Garrett Lewis also received an Outstanding Rating (II).

Five band students participated in the festival. The results are as follows: Emily Condie, trumpet solo, II rating; Jacob Wilson, trumpet solo, II rating; Taylor Harper, flute solo, II rating; Maelea Coulson, flute solo, I rating; Sarabeth Michael, flute solo, I rating; flute trio of Maelea Coulson, Sarabeth Michael, and Taylor Harper, I rating.
