Bryan Anderson, actor, author and Iraq War veteran will be the featured speaker at the HMC Foundation’s second annual Dinner Gala to be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Chillicothe Country Club.

The evening will begin with a social hour for all attendees when the doors open at 5:30 pm.  Attendees will be seated at tables of eight in the main dining room of the Chillicothe Country Club.  The dinner will begin at 6:30 pm.

Anderson, who served two tours of duty in Iraq, enlisted in the Army in April 2001 and had a ‘ship out’ date of September 11, 2001.  He was stationed in the Baghdad area.  As a Sergeant in the Military Police, Bryan conducted police training courses in Iraq and gained additional law enforcement experience as a prison guard at Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary.

In October 2005, Anderson was injured by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that resulted in the loss of both legs and his left hand.  As a result of his injuries, he was awarded a Purple Heart.  Bryan received rehabilitation for a period of 13 months at Walter Reed Army Hospital.  He is one of the few triple amputees to have survived his injuries in Iraq.

Currently Anderson is the national spokesman for Quantam Rehab and USA Cares and is an Ambassador for the Gary Sinise Foundation.  He is pursuing a career in acting and has appeared in feature films American Sniper and The Wrestler as well as episodes of television shows CSI: NY and Hawaii 5-0.  He also participates in snowboarding, wakeboarding, rock climbing and white water rafting.  Bryan’s story has received much media coverage including coverage in USA Today, Esquire Magazine, Chicago Sun Times, Los Angeles Times, New York Times and 60 Minutes.

Lindy Chapman, Foundation Development Officer, shares details about the evening, “In addition to the dinner we will have a small live auction with unique experience items.  Bryan’s speech will follow the auction.  He has such a relevant message – we believe everyone will find something in his story to inspire them.”

Tickets are available for $40 per person, or $320 for a table of 8.  VIP tables of 8 are also available for $600 with special amenities available that evening including a choice of wine or unique desserts and an autographed copy of Anderson’s book, No Turning Back.

The funds raised from the Dinner Gala will benefit two projects supported by the HMC Foundation – the Oncology Nurse Navigator Fund and The Gardens at Hedrick Medical Center.
