The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning until 6:15 p.m. on April 5 for Daviess County.

At 9:13 a.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen since last night in some areas, and additional rainfall of up to quarter of an inch is expected through this afternoon. Several roadways have already been closed as a result of high standing water.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…St. Joseph, Atchison, Cameron, Chillicothe, Trenton, Savannah, Brookfield, Bethany, Plattsburg, Marceline, Lathrop, Milan, Unionville, Hamilton, Gallatin, Albany, Gower, Wathena, Elwood and Stanberry.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Daviess County: Grand River near Pattonsburg affecting Daviess and Gentry Counties. Grand River near Gallatin affecting Daviess and Livingston Counties.
Do not drive through flowing water. Nearly half of all flood fatalities are vehicle related. As little as 6 inches of water may cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. This product along with additional weather
