The Daviess County Health Department will host their Annual Health Fair in celebration of Public Health Week on Monday, April 3, and Tuesday, April 4, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities planned are resource booths, and free labs to Daviess County residents. The labs are by appointment only and are limited. Call 660-663-2414 to book your appointment beginning March 13 at 8 a.m.

The lab fee for non-Daviess County residents is $50 for females and $60 for males (due to prostate specific antigen). Insurance and Medicare will not be billed and the lab packages cannot be divided. Cash or check only, no debit or credit card machine is available.
Individuals interested in the labs need to drink a lot of water the day before and be fasting (nothing by mouth) after midnight. You must be 18 years old or older to have your lab drawn. Below is a list of the labs included in this screening.
PSA-Prostate Specific Antigen (men only)
TSH-Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
Chem 12-Glucose, Urea Nitrogen, Creatinine, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Calcium, Protein, Albumin Globulin, AST, ALT, Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase
CBC- White and Red Blood Cell Count, Hemoglobin, MCV, Hematocrit, MCH, MCHC, RDW, Platelet Count, MPV, Absolute Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Absolute Eosinophils, Absolute Basophils, Nutrophils.
Lipid Panel-Triglycerides, Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Cardiac Risk Ratio.
HGB-A1C- is a blood test that checks the amount of sugar (glucose) bound to hemoglobin. The result is shown as a percentage. The result of your A1C test can also be used to estimate your average blood sugar level.
No other public health services will be offered on Tuesday, April 5.

Thursday, April 6, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Stroke Detection Plus will be at the Daviess County Health Department doing screenings for Osteoporosis, peripheral arterial disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm, carotid artery screen, all for $135. The Daviess County Health Department will pay $25 toward all four screenings for Daviess County taxpayers to help offset the cost. Friday, April 7 – GPS Scavenger Hunt in Daviess County. This year’s theme for National Public Health Week is “Let’s Get Everyone Moving!” Participate for fun and a chance to win prizes. See separate flyer for information.
