Visitation for Carl Royston will be from 1:30-2 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, with services immediately following at 2 p.m. at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City. Burial with military honors will follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cross Roads Hospice, Kansas City.

Carl A. Royston, 91, Kansas City, died Sunday, March 5, 2017.

He was born April 29, 1925, in Gallatin to Jewell and Roberta (Beckwith) Royston.

Carl was a veteran of WWII. After serving his country, he met Lenora Louise Murphey and on June, 19, 1948, they were joined in marriage in Wichita, Kan.

Carl retired after 40 years of work from AMOCO Petroleum.

Carl was a member of the Masonic Lodge, in St. Joseph and Overland Park, Kan. He also was a member of the Platte Woods United Methodist.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dawna Leamon.

Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years, Lenora; two daughters, Carlene S. Vining, of St. Joseph, Maxine L. (Tom) Croy, of Kansas City; son, Phillip C. (Amy) Royston, of Overland Park; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
