Darrel Ray Fanning, 79, of McFall,  (formerly of Gallatin) passed away March 3, 2017 at the Quail Run Health Care Center, Cameron, where he had been a resident for the past 10 years.

He was born Aug. 2, 1937 in McFall, to William Dale Fanning and Emma Fanning Richardson. He was one of twins, both of which weighed less than 2 pounds each. His twin sister, Carol Mae, passed away within a few hours of birth.

Darrel grew up in the McFall area, living with his mother and after she married Russell Richardson, they moved to Gallatin, where he helped with outdoor chores and gardening. He also helped his step-father in the plumbing and heating business, leaning all the tools of the business.

Darrel was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Russell Richardson; his twin sister, Carol Mae; his older sister, Mildred Neff; and brother-in-law, Bob Neff.

He is survived by his sister, Betty (Don) Cameron of Pattonsburg; half-sisters, Candy, Barbara, and Debbie, all of Iowa; 9 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Burial will follow in McFall Cemetery, McFall, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
