The City of Pattonsburg accepted bids to refurbish the garage where the city’s equipment is stored. The following bids on insulation, garage doors and heater were received:
Brown Lumber on all three items; Timber Wolf Construction on garage doors; Overhead Door Company of St. Joseph on garage doors; Nelson Heating & Electric on Heating; Innovative Insulation on insulation; Farm and Home Insulation on Insulation; Suburban Foam Insulation on Insulation; Missouri Valley Spray Foam on Insulation.
The board accepted Timber Wolf Construction for the garage doors at $4,659.20, Innovative Insulation for the spray foam insulation at $4,972.50, and Nelson Heating & Electric for the heating at $1,993.
Candidate filing ended January 17. Candidates who have filed are Ed Howard for mayor, two year term; Lonnie Luke for Alderman, two year term; Dustin Sperry for Alderman, one year term. There is still one position open for alderman for a two year term.
Missouri Rural Water Association (MRWA) performed an energy efficiency assessment on the Pattonsburg water plant and city hall to see if there is anywhere the city could save money.
The assessment indicated that everything looked good. When things needed replaced, energy efficient equipment was recommended.
The fax machine is not working and two bids were received: one from Marco and one from MDS Inc. The board went with Marco as their bid was cheaper with more options.
Microsoft word and excel were not working properly and the city agreed to buy Office 365 for the office computers.
The city will get some Gabion Stone and start working on the sidewalks and ditches that need to be fixed.
Bids for a salt spreader were received from Orschen’s at $600, Sutherland’s at $525, and Northern Tool at $499. The board went with Northern Tool for $499.
The two-year agreement on the mower is up and bids taken. The board agreed to continue with Terry Implement on the two year agreement for the mower.
Lucille Lusk representing Small Towns Cooperative Board (STCB) advised the council that the city needs to get the Board of Adjustment in place.
A meeting was set up with Lance Rains from Green Hills Planning Commission to discuss zoning ordinances further.
Appointment of Zoning Board and Board of Adjustments was tabled until next month.
Ms. Lusk requested a security access code from the Missouri Department of Revenue, which the board allowed. The Cooperative will begin doing property maintenance surveys soon.
Janna Barton with Municipal Assistance Co. reported that one dog was picked up and the owner redeemed the dog.
The board motioned to set 1 ½ commercial water meter installation fee at $1,100.
Classes started Feb. 21 for Adam Albert. He is getting his license in water treatment. He is an employee at the water plant and also with city maintenance. The city will pay for his mileage weekly.
The board discussed the water meter deposit for BTC Bank on an additional building. The board waived the deposit since the bank has been a long-standing business in the community.
A tree removal inquiry was tabled until next month
The city asked that Stan Weihs, a sales representative for ACCO (the chemical supplier for the water plant), come to the next meeting on March 13 to discuss the chemical contract.
The city carried a motion to hold an auction for cash renting of approximately 140 acres of farm ground in the old town on Feb. 18 at city hall. Terry Hoover won the auction bid. The board stated that if Mr. Hoover wanted to clean up the lot Gene Hulet used to own on Poage Street, and make it tillable and plant it, then it would be added into the lease and he could have it those first three years at no charge. If he chooses to extend the lease for three years, then that lot would be charged to the cash rent.
Tim Starks presented the General Warranty Deed back to the City from Outpost Ventures. The board agreed to accept the deed and refunded the $2,600 that Outpost Ventures paid for the land.
Six Month Financials were reviewed and placed in the North Missourian.
The above minutes are of the approved Jan. 19 meeting and the unapproved Feb. 21 meeting of the City of Pattonsburg. Closed sessions were held at both of the regular meetings.
