Superintendent Brian Robinson noted in his administrative report that in January, Governor Greitens cut approximately $146 million from the state budget. Of the $146 million cut, K-12 education-related line items were cut by approximately $11.3 million. The biggest portion of that figure came from transportation as the Governor cut approximately $8.6 million from a fund that is already in dire shape. With the most recent cuts, the transportation fund is now underfunded by approximately $194 million.

Students in need of assistance based on low grades, missing work, or in need of skill development have been identified by teachers and letters have gone out to parents suggesting students stay for tutoring through the A+ program.

The week of February 13-16 was both National FFA and National FCCLA Week. Organizations and their sponsors worked together to plan activities including student dress-up days, the FFA Pancake supper, and a student “black-out day” and assembly to draw attention to the dangers of distracted driving (FCCLA).
Mr. Gagnon accompanied a group of 11 sophomores to the North Central Career Center in Bethany for the Sophomore Visit Day. Students were given an overview of what CTE (VoTech) was and how it can prepare them for a multitude of fields. Students then were allowed to choose two areas they could learn more about by speaking with the instructors and seeing the facilities they could be using next year.
