The Daviess County Spelling Bee was held Feb. 8 in Pattonsburg. Winners are pictured from left: Joelee Lewis, alternate – 7th grader at Tri-County, daughter of Aaron and Chrystal Lewis; Johnathan Carder, second place – 8th grader at Gallatin Middle School, son of Bill and Grace Carder; Braden Lee, first place – 6th Grader at Winston, son of Brooke and Chris Lee. The first and second place winners will advance to the regional competition scheduled for Saturday, March 11, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, 2614 Seneca Street, St. Joseph.
