South Harrison five times pulled to within one possession of Gallatin in the fourth quarter, but the red and black Lady Bulldogs always had an answer, even though the visitors hit four three-point shots to make a close game of it.

Carley Wilhelm’s trey at 1:46 cut the gap to 41-40 but Karley Salmon answered for Gallatin with a three-pointer. Cora Stout’s rebound and putback of a missed free throw by teammate Hayley Michael gave Gallatin a wider, 46-40, cushion but South Harrison answered with another trey.

Megan Cox knocked down a pair of clutch free throws with five seconds remaining to preserve Gallatin’s fourth GRC East win of the season.

Gallatin led by a 17-7 margin by the middle of the second quarter after a pair of Kelsey Maxwell free throws but South Harrison closed the first half with a 12-5 surge.

Stout registered a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Salmon scored all nine of her points from the three-point arc.
