The 2016 Year End Financial review for the City of Gallatin was approved by the Board of Aldermen at their Jan. 23 meeting. The report is published in this week’s edition of the Gallatin North Missourian.

Due to the water plant contract being signed more than 90 days after the bid opening an updated prevailing wage schedule should have been included and wasn’t, according to City Administrator Tony Stonecypher. An amendment to the contract is required.
Mr. Stonecypher provided a five year electric usage schedule to the board.
David Roll with the Emergency Management Team requested the board to consider allowing the GIDA Board room to be used as the Emergency Operations Center in the event of a county wide emergency. The emergency management team is seeking funding options and donations to pay for the upgrades to the phone system and purchasing a generator to be used at the emergency center location. The board requested the emergency management team provide a formal contract at the next meeting for review.
A utilities overview report was provided stating upgrades and projects completed in each department in 2016.
The December transaction report was approved.
Bills in the amount of $182,052.82 were approved for payment.
Discussion was held on the People Service Operation and Maintenance Report for December 2016.
The board decided to renew the $65,199.06 Sales Tax CD at Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri for five years at a higher interest rate.
Eichler’s Tax Service proposal for 2017 monthly bookkeeping review was accepted by the board at $20 per hour for three to four hours per month performed on-site at Gallatin City Hall.
The board reviewed the City’s November and December bank statements and other month-end financial reports provided by Eichler’s Tax Service.
A resolution was accepted which revised the standard operations procedure manual used by the Gallatin Police Department.
Mr. Stonecypher has been meeting with an area marketing group in Jamesport to help promote the City of Gallatin.
The Great Northwest Day is scheduled for next week and Mr. Stonecypher is planning on attending to represent Daviess County.
Discussion was held on the current state of the empty building next to the City’s lot on the east side of the square.
