Dear Editor:
I am wondering when this village board is going to do what they have said about things they were going to do.
There are still dogs running the streets at Altamont and not in pens or tied. Some people turn theirs loose at night that are tied.
They have talked about putting gravel on the streets for two years now. The streets are terrible. Big holes all over them. Need taken care of.
They tell one person one thing another person something else. Not fair at all. Should treat everyone the same or not at all.
This small town organization we are in is the worst thing that ever happened to this village. Not helping the people at all. It is hindering everyone. It is taking monies from the village that could be used for something else. Not getting anything out of it. Don’t like that.
There are a lot of bigger things to take care of instead of the dogs in pens and fenced or building permits in this little village, like helping people that can’t do too much on their properties. They need to help mow their ditches and keep corners mowed and weeds cleaned off so people can see around corners when they come up to them so they won’t have to go on up from stop signs and hit a child on a bicycle or have a wreck because they can’t see. Whose fault will that be then?
The board has said they have a new ordinance enforcer. The one they fired is the one that has been working as enforcer for at least two years now. She is the one that took my little dogs over a year ago. One of the board said that she couldn’t tell the twins apart and our enforcer then was the other twin. Not very smart.
