It has been a busy year for Triumph Foods and the Second Harvest Community Food Bank network. In June, Triumph donated 20,000 pounds of premium, fresh pork to the Northwest Missouri based food bank. In September, the company donated 36,000 pounds of meat to Second Harvest of Southern Louisiana to aid in the flood relief efforts to the devastated Baton Rouge area for distribution to the effected residents.

The donation last week to Second Harvest of lean high quality pork ribs, loins, pork steaks, and other cuts of meat is enough food to help provide over 16,600 meals across the 19 counties Second Harvest serves in Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. This area currently has more than 54,000 individuals who aren’t sure where they will get their next meal.

“As the only food bank servicing 19 counties in Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas, we are constantly working to

identify how to provide more protein to families in need throughout the region,” said Chad Higdon, Executive Director at

Second Harvest. “Our partnership with Triumph Foods helps with our fight against hunger, and when we receive a

generous contribution of high quality protein we can provide assistance to the many struggling families in the region.”

“Triumph is proud to have continued and strengthened our partnership with the Second Harvest network again this year. A

strong commitment to our communities is a fundamental part of the foundation of our company” said Chris Clark,

Communications Manager at Triumph. “With the holiday season upon us, we will continue to stand by that commitment

to the fight against food insecurity and hunger alongside Second Harvest.”
