The Community Cupboard, which covers Daviess, Clinton, Caldwell, DeKalb, Ray, Harrison and several other counties, along with The Cellular Connection/TCC will be distributing Christmas boxes to families in need, starting at 1 p.m. on Dec. 14. The boxes will include a ham and trimmings for that special Christmas meal as families celebrate this time of year. This year, TCC will be funding between 25 and 40 boxes.
The boxes will be done in a raffle type distribution. To enter the drawing, mail, find on Facebook, or email at [email protected]. List your name, address, the number of people in your household, and a good contact number.
The Cupboard, located at 421 North Walnut in Cameron, is non government funded with no financial or residency restrictions. If selected and you have never been to the pantry before, you will need to provide names, address verification, and social security cards for you and everyone in the household. Anyone failing to do so, will not be allowed in the drawing.
Deadline for the drawing is Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. Winners will be notified on Dec. 12 after 7 p.m. Those selected at the drawing will need to arrive about 12:45 p.m. on Dec. 14, and park along the south side of 5th Street, and on the north side of 5th street, west of the alley. Please do not block the alley, or park in local business parking lots. Violators will be towed at their own expense.
Ryan McCarty, TCC Director of Customer and Employee Relations, states that TCC selected The Community Cupboard by one of its employee’s for their local community program “The Culture of Good” to give back and to help make families Christmas a little brighter. TCC believes in giving a hand up to those in need.
The Cupboard will not be distributing regular pantry on day of the drawing.
