According to the probable cause statement prepared by Daviess County Deputy Jared Hogan, Tasco hit the diesel pump at the Winston Pit Stop at least twice as he pulled into the business and attempted to leave. There was also extensive damage to the concrete island. He also hit a personal use water hydrant located next to the building, and, as he pulled away, he tore the squeegee container from the concrete post and knocked over the trash can. He also damaged the grass yard of the business with the tractor trailer unit.

Tasco then left the Winston Pit Stop without contacting anyone, and as of Nov. 22, he had not made any attempt to contact the Pit Stop or his employer, Hirschbach Motor Lines.

Winston Pit Stop estimates the damage in excess of $10,000.
