A Hamilton man, Trent Clevenger, 25, received minor injuries as a passenger in a car involved in an accident at about 6:50 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, in Caldwell County.

According to the highway patrol, the accident occurred as Joshua Yates, 15, Chillicothe, was southbound on Sale Barn Road at Old US 36, one mile east of Cameron. Joshua was driving a 2000 Buick Century. His vehicle approached a stop sign and failed to yield and pulled into the path of Mary Franklin, 27, Kidder, who was westbound in a 1994 Mazda.

Joshua’s vehicle came to rest on its wheels facing north. Ms. Franklin’s vehicle came to rest on its wheels off the south side of the roadway facing south.

Mr. Clevenger was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. He was wearing his seat belt.

The Buick and the Mazda both had extensive damage.

The accident was investigated by Sgt. L.M. Newman, Cpl. M.S. Belshe, and Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department.
