The speech contest was titled “We All Need Trees.” Requirements were to give a prepared speech 6-8 minutes long, followed by five minutes of questioning by the judges.
The purpose of this contest is to promote a stronger interest and clearer understanding of the many aspects of natural resource conservation, to provide opportunities for our youth to gain knowledge, appreciation, and understanding of Missouri’s natural resources and help to promote their many values and virtues.
The top three from each Area advance to compete at the District level which is Wednesday, Nov. 9. Only the first place speech at District will advance to State.
