Brian Crawford with McKinstry presented the Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education with construction bids for the building project during their meeting held Oct. 12. The bid of Herner Construction out of St. Joseph was accepted. The base bid was for $1,009,000 and included three alternates. The total bid was $1,041,700. Construction for the new school began Nov. 1.
McKinstry of St. Louis was selected as construction manager for Pattonsburg’s school project. McKinstry is a full-service design, build, operate and maintenance firm.
The building project will develop in three phrases: new construction (additions to the building); renovation (building, mechanicals, such as HVAC equipment, lighting, etc); and energy efficiency.
In other business at the school board meeting, Brian Eckhoff with Westbrook & Co. presented the audit report for the 2015-2016 school year. It was a clean audit and was approved by the board.
