school-fccla-team-spiritOn Oct. 25, 10 FCCLA members and two teachers from Gallatin High School attended a Highway Safety & Leadership workshop called “Team Spirit” in Chillicothe. “Team Spirit” was put on by Kacey Buschjost of  the MoDOT Highway Safety Division, and Sharee A. Galnore and Rachel Penny of Cape Girardeau Safe Communities. During the workshop, the students had the opportunity to listen to many speakers such as Penny Lorenz Anderson of the Think First Program and Sgt. Jake Angle of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. While the students were there, they learned about safe driving, how to prevent accidents, and even had the ability to create an action plan to help their fellow students and community become safer. The students who participated in this workshop were Kaitlyn Bird, Maddy Waters, Tatum Griffin, Macie McNeely, Hayley Michael, Mariah Huston, Aidan Adkison, Drayton Harris, Briar Roll, and Essie Williamson. The two advisers who also attended were Becky Adkison and Joyce Cox.
