Frances Wynne, 99, Gallatin, passed away Oct. 31 at the Daviess County Nursing and Rehab. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2nd at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation will be 1-hour prior to the service. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial is at the Hillcrest Cemetery near Gallatin. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Gallatin c/o McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin.
Frances M. (Johnson) Wynne was born Oct. 1, 1917 the daughter of Charles and Ruby (Adams) Johnson of Gallatin, where she graduated from high school and lived all her life. Frances was united in marriage to Forrest Wynne in 1937 and the couple made their home on the family farm northeast of Gallatin. She was a stay at home mom and helped on the farm. Frances was no stranger to hard work and was always willing to help in any way she could. Frances moved to town in 1972 due to the loss of her husband.
Frances was a devoted member of the First Christian Church in Gallatin where she enjoyed the fellowship she shared with her church family, and was a long time member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. Frances enjoyed quilting and was very musical. She loved painting and was a member of the Green Hills Art Club as well as the Muddy Creek Ramblers Farm Club. Frances enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Frances was a person of faith and lived her life serving others. She will be greatly missed.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Forrest Wynne.
Frances is survived by her son, James Wynne of Phoenix Ariz.; 3 sisters, Nina Clevenger and Viva Houghton, both of Gallatin and Lucy Manning of Kansas City; her special nephew Wayne Clevenger; and nieces, Marsha, Janice and Beverly.
