Nunsense will be presented at 7 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 17-19, at the Courter Theater in Gallatin by the Gallatin Theatre League.

Once again, the lights are on and the marquee is sparkling at the Courter Theater in Gallatin.

The small but mighty cast of “Nunsense” has been rehearsing nightly, set builders have constructed backdrops and props, and committees have started making their plans for another spectacular show.

“Nunsense” begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium, which happens to be set up for the eighth grade production of “Grease.”

Here we meet Reverend Mother Regina (Janna Barton), a former circus performer; Sister Mary Hubert (Annie Gibson), the Mistress of Novices; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne (Jackie Nichols); Sister Mary Leo (Sherri Pettit Smith), a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia (Glennie Peery), the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head.

Rounding out the cast are the Silent Sisters who sing but never speak, Amy McMahon and Vanessa Mullins.  It’s a fun show with lots of energy and laughs.
