4-h-firemanThe Knee-Hi 4-H club met Oct. 12 at the Gallatin First Christian Church with 21 members in attendance. The Gallatin Fire Department was the October program. GFD brought out three trucks including the ladder truck. Fire Chief Doug Hamilton explained the different situations each truck is used for and the members were able to ask questions and sit in all of the trucks. The meeting then resumed with officer elections. The 2016-2017 officer team includes president, Mattison Ishmael; vice president, Kaitlyn Bird; secretary, Libby Endicott; co-treasurers, Hayden Jumps and Lane Dowell; co-reporter/historians, Alex Endicott and Kara Bernardino; game leaders Kaylen Sterneker and Maggie Tucker. The club also voted to be a part of “Scare on the Square” on Oct. 29. It was decided that the club would hand out treat bags with reflective tape cut-outs so children can decorate their bags. Access II and Landmark Manufacturing were asked to be sponsors. Everyone was encouraged to complete on-line enrollment as soon as possible. The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 9 at 6:30 pm at the Covel D. Searcy elementary cafeteria.
