James “Jim” L. Muller, 66, Hamilton, passed away at his home on Oct. 14, 2016. He had lived in Hamilton since 1985, and previously lived in Chillicothe.

Jim was born on June 26, 1950, in St. Joseph, to Harry Lawrence and Ethel M. “Penny” Thornburg Muller. He was a 1968 graduate of Penney High School, Hamilton. He was of the Baptist faith.

Jim worked as a machinist and owned his own shop, Muller Motive, in Hamilton from 1998-2012. He then worked at Magnum Machines, west of Hamilton.

He married Brenda Surber on January 27, 1984, in Chillicothe. She preceded him in death in 2014.

He was also preceded by his parents; brother, Thomas L. Muller; and sister, Joyce Elaine Peacher.

Survivors include: sister, Cathie (Bob) Sherrow, Chula; daughters, April Klusman, Kearney, Harmony (Ryan) Belden, Liberty, and Jessica (Brian) Reynolds, Lee’s Summit; and six grandchildren.

Cremation was entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton. The Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at the Hamilton Baptist Church, with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home for the establishment of a scholarship in Jim’s name to a Penney High School senior.
