Charges were filed against three subjects after a traffic stop for speeding on U.S. 69, north of Highway 36 in Daviess County on Sept. 21. All three subjects are being held at the Daviess DeKalb County Regional Jail.

Cynthia Lee, 46, Bethany, was driving without a valid license. Trooper M. Neely observed her eyes were bloodshot. Her answers to questions were unusual and had no relevance to the question that had been asked. Lee admitted she was taking Fentanyl and that she had smoked methamphetamine earlier that morning. She gave consent for a vehicle search.
Gregory Lee, 68, Bethany, was the front seat passenger. He became argumentative when Officer Neely was trying to place Cynthia Lee under arrest and refused to stay in front of the vehicle as instructed. He was arrested and charged with class D felony interfering with felony arrest.
Dennis Swearingin, 36, Pattonsburg, was a rear passenger. During the consent search, drugs and paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.
Cynthia Lee was charged with two counts of class C felony possession of controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, DWI-drug intoxication and misdemeanor no valid license, with bond of $50,000 cash. Gregory Lee, 68, Bethany, was charged with class D felony interfering with felony arrest, with bond of $25,000.
Dennis Swearingin, 36, Pattonsburg, was charged with class C felony possession of controlled substance and misdemeanor paraphernalia, with bond of $35,000.
