Two northbound New Mexico registered passenger cars were stopped near the 58 mile marker in Daviess County by Sgt. L. Allen. During the traffic stop he became suspicious of illegal activity occurring in both vehicles. Sgt. M.A. Wilhoit’s canine Cipo indicated and alerted to both vehicles.
A search of the Trans Am driven by Cizek revealed marijuana and paraphernalia. A search of the second vehicle, a green Buick, revealed a shotgun, which the driver said was not his. Cizek, however, stated that he owned the shotgun. A computer check of the Girsan model CA 612 12-gauge semi-automatic confirmed that the gun had been reported stolen.
Cizek was transported to DDCRJ where a warrant was issued with charges of receiving stolen property, felony B, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor A, and possession of marijuana, misdemeanor A. Bond is set at $35,000.
