In a bench trial conducted Sept. 22, Terry M. Roberts of Altamont was found guilty on all counts in a case of arson and assault which originated in November 2014. Judge Thomas Chapman presided over the case.
On Nov. 6, 2014, Roberts struck Thomas D. Neal multiple times in the head with a hammer and forcefully entered a residence in Altamont with the intention of committing arson. He poured gasoline in the living room and set it on fire while Tesla Davis was in the residence. He also poured gasoline on Davis. The fire completely destroyed the residence. The probable cause report was prepared by Deputy Robert Mazur.
Roberts was found guilty of assault first degree, serious physical injury, class A felony; assault first degree, class B felony, burglary first degree, class B felony, and arson first degree, class B felony. Judge Chapman ordered a sentencing assessment report.

David Lee Mozingo, 26, and Shelbe Lee Reickard, 24, both of Winston, were married Sept. 26 by Judge Daren Adkins.
Associate Circuit Court
Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $68.50 for moving traffic violations and $116.50 in most criminal cases. Judge Daren L. County Commission
James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, discussed roads and bridges around the county that need to be completed. The crew will be working on Quick Avenue installing a 12-foot diameter tube this week, and possibly next week.

Bryan Copple and Doug Alden met with the commission regarding road issues in Monroe, Union and Grand River Townships.
Linda Jones called and spoke to the commission regarding roads in Sheridan Township.
Becky Simpson, Extension Council, met with the commission regarding budgets for 2017.
Randy Mendenhall, Snyder and Associates, called and spoke to the commission regarding soft match money on ongoing bridge projects.
Doug Bowe, River Bluff Architects, called and gave an update to the commission on the nursing home roof bid details.
