Brent Dustman presented his resume to the Winston Village Board of Trustees during their meeting Sept. 9 for the job of sewer shutoff contractor. He explained in detail his past experiences and willingness to help the village. The board agree to contract the work to Brent Dustman at $200 for the first two hours, and $80 for the remaining hours to install sewer shutoffs for the Village.

The resignation of board member Autumn Caldwell, due to unforeseen circumstances, was accepted. The board is asking any Winston residents interested in serving their community to contact the city clerk.

The income and expense reports were approved and bills paid. A budget amendment was approved as proposed.

Utilities Clerk Amber White distributed a new list of delinquent customers, including two due for shutoff. She informed the board of two move-outs and one move in.

Melvin McFee reported everything was working properly regarding sewer maintenance and there were no problems.

The street maintenance grader operator stated that once he had the parts, he would make the repairs to the grader, and grade the roads by the following week. The clerk offered to pick up the parts.

The village clerk informed the board the annual operating budget statement had been filed, and the property tax rate certification letter had been received. She also told the board of the upcoming community letter she will be preparing and discussed the items that will go in the letter.

A bill was accepted to adopt the certified village property tax rate; to update costs of employees and service providers; and related matters.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m.
