Kristen Marble was offered the special education teacher (SPED) aide position and Jennifer Redman was offered the part time Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) aide position for the 2016-17 school year during the meeting of the Gallatin R-5 Board of Education held Sept. 15.

During public comment Sarah Bird — representing the after prom lock-in parents — presented fundraiser requests for approval. Requests were approved and included: letter writing, chili supper on Oct. 14, silent auction at the Gallatin Invitational Tournament; selling apparel like hats, polos, t-shirts and car stickers; and selling bulldog cookbooks.
Fund raising requests were approved for FCCLA t-shirts, FBLA crispy crème donuts, yearbook senior salutes and business ads, yearbook athletic pictures, wrestling hog raffle, and FFA fruit sales.
FFA members who worked on the new middle school landscaping project were recognized: Madalynn Shubert, Courtney Shubert, Addison Burns, Tayton Terry, Justice Fry, Taylor Rardon, Mattison Ishmael, Macie McNeely, Cooper Grady, Micheal McLey, Owen Schweizer, Declan Schweizer, Kaitlyn Bird and Jarod Rains.
The board agreed to resend the Retirement Incentive Program for Certified Personnel policy (GCPCA) in 2016-2017. The program will be honored this school year, but this is the last year; and it will not be offered next year.

The District-Wide Evaluation Plan was approved.
The 2016-2017 substitute list was approved.
The board entered into closed session for discussing personnel.
