Known as “take a book, leave a book” the idea is to promote literacy and the love of reading through the free book exchange.

The colorful library, a little house on a post, was built by Graydee Rains, as a project through ag class at GHS.

The little library is open all the time and children and adults are invited to walk by and grab a book.

Anyone may contribute or take books. If you take a book (or two) from the library, you do not need to return that exact book. However, in order to keep the little library full of good choices for the whole neighborhood, the next time you swing by the library bring a few books to share.

Little Library book exchanges function on the honor system. Jan Johnson, director at the Daviess County Library, along with other rotary members will monitor the library to ensure there are always quality books inside.
