Bids on eight windows to be replaced in the city hall/municipal building were opened during the meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen held on August 15. Two bids were received. One was from Lowe’s in the amount of $4,440.85 and one was from Timber Wolf Construction in the amount of $2,577.28. The board accepted the Timber Wolf Construction bid.

The windows to be replaced originally came from a building in the old town of Pattonsburg and were over 20 years old.

McKinstry Construction Services Manager Brian L. Crawford inquired about a building permit for the construction of the addition to the Pattonsburg school. He asked if the council would consider waiving the building permit fee since it was for the school. The board motioned to not waive the fee.

Brown Car Wash has had a water leak which left them a substantial amount being owed on their water bill. A payment arrangement has been set up.

Ordinances were revised to be consistent with the Missouri State Legislature, including the general penalty for municipal ordinance violations and minor traffic violations (the word ‘village’ was changed to ‘city’); for abatement notices, to revise provisions related to towing, (#6 should be the letter C).

Lucille Lusk noted that other ordinance issues to be addressed in the near future are: vehicles, animals other than dogs and cats, property maintenance, alderman at large elections, etc.

Code Enforcement Officer Janna Barton presented the Code Enforcement Report. She stated that she received a letter from attorney Jan Stout on an ongoing court case that was rescheduled for Sept. 12.

The Code Enforcement Services Agreement was renegotiated after former Animal Enforcement Officer Christy Eden Browder stated by email this past summer that due to family obligations, she was going to have to cancel the service contract. Ms. Browder noted that Lucille Lusk had agreed to take over the administrative position of the company with the officers on board as well. Mayor Howard read the Code Enforcement Services Agreement with Municipal Assistance Company to the board and it was accepted. Dustin Sperry will be a liaison with Municipal Assistance Company. Municipal Assistance Company received approval from the City to use Small Town Cooperation Board funds for temporary animal holding.

A Tree Climbers Club representative would like for the board to meet with the Industrial Development Association about waiving their rent.

The tax rate levy was set at the maximum authorized levy which is (1.0000) one dollar per one hundred dollars.

Company signs for the utility truck will be obtained through Missouri Vocational Enterprises.

A hydrant meter will be purchased. A measuring wheel, more blue flags for the water locates, and a new chlorine pocket colorimeter II kit were also approved for purchase.

Snow blade was tabled until next month.

The state highway department will be contacted about the intersection at C and North Second Avenue.

Delinquent account holders who have made no response or payment will have their accounts sent to Municipal Court.

Amir RazaNaqvi was granted a renewal of his Liquor License.
