Moving on down the road … the lost sheep of I-35

The first report came at 1:39 p.m. on Friday — a herd of sheep at the 63 mile marker of I-35; however they were not found when officers responded.
Another report of sheep on the interstate was made at 6:08 p.m. at the 61 mm, but again officers did find them.
On Saturday, sheep were reported at the 58 mm at 7:52 a.m., and at 10:10 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a report of sheep missing from property located near 112th Street and Highway 69 west of Winston. The owner was informed of the reports from the previous day.
At 4:16 p.m. Saturday, the sheep were back on I-35, near the 61 mm, and information was given to the owners. At 8:07 p.m. the sheep had traveled to the 62 mm. At 9:02 p.m., the sheep ran away from their owners into tall grass and could not be found.
At 9:29 a.m. Sunday, sheep were reported on Highway 69 and Topper, west of I-35. That was the last report of the sheep, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

12:29 am – MSHP advising Troop A patrolman from KC in pursuit of vehicle northbound on I-35 at the 39mm. Car is travelling at high rate of speed and with no lights.
12:39 am – Vehicle from above is now headed southbound into Clay County.
9:17 am – Sheriff out at Tri County School.
12:26 pm – Sheriff out at Winston School.
8:51 pm – Complaint of motorcycle in Coffey.
9:40 pm – Person having problem with child. Requesting deputy.

5:15 am – Sheriff and deputy on way to Hanover County, Va., to pick up prisoner.
5:18 pm – Verbal disagreement over property in Jamesport.

7:14 am – Cow out on Highway K south of Highway P.
11:47 am – Report of van into guard rail at the Altamont junction. No injuries. Not found upon arrival.
6:35 pm – Sheriff and deputy back from Virginia extradition and transferring Wayne Poage, 55, Spring Hill, Fla., to DDCRJ on FTA charges of class D felony non-support of child with $15,000 cash bond. Poage also has a parole absconder warrant.
8:30 pm – Call regarding dispute over property.

9:06 am – In Jamesport reference dog complaint.
10 am – Sheriff out at monthly jail board meeting.
12 pm – MSHP brought Antuaine Robinson, 34, Kansas City, into the Sheriff’s Office to post bond on Kansas City PD charges of driving while revoked.
1:39 pm – Report of herd of sheep out on I-35 at the 63mm.
2:10 pm – Sheep not found on the interstate.
6:08 pm – Sheep back out on the I-35 southbound side at the 61mm. Still not found upon responding.
9:29 pm – Report of water over roadway on Highway M and Vista Avenue.
11:20 pm – Report of possible burglary in progress at house in Gallatin. Door had been kicked in but no one was inside.

7:52 am – Report of sheep on I-35 at the 58mm.
10:10 am – Subject reporting their sheep missing from their property located near 112th Street and Highway 69 west of Winston. Subject was given info regarding the calls from earlier and the day before.
10:19 am – Report of horse on 1-35 at the 58mm.
2:42 pm – Complaint of ATV in Altamont.
4:16 pm – The sheep are back on I-35 near the 61mm. Gave info to owners.
5:03 pm – Report of subject lying in grass on side of I-35 at the 71mm. Troop advised they have checked on this subject and all is OK.
5:36 pm – Complaint regarding dog in Jamesport.
7:05 pm – Call regarding dispute over personal property.
8:07 pm – Sheep are now at the 62mm. Gave info to owners.
9:02 pm – Sheep ran from owners and into tall grass, cannot be found.

12:08 am – Complaint of party south of Jamesport.
12:25 am – Complaint of large party south of old Pattonsburg..
12:42 am – Sheriff’s office arrested Drew Vanwye, 23, Altamont, for DWI, and Sarah Flook, 20, Cameron, for minor in possession of alcohol. Both were transferred to DDCRJ for 12-hour detoxification hold.
2:25 am – Report of car in ditch with lights on at the 63mm of I-35.
2:53 am – MSHP arrested Jessica Johnson, 30, Bethany, from above accident for DWI. Johnson was transported to DDCRJ for 12-hour detoxification hold.
4:29 am – Found subject laying near the road on Highway 69 near Midway Avenue. All OK. Subject is walking back to friend’s house.
4:34 am – Subject reported her car was hit while she was parked on side of road near a party south of Pattonsburg.
7:09 am – Harrison County advising they have individual who has a complaint from a party overnight in Pattonsburg.
8:22 am – Subject from above is at the Daviess County courthouse to file report.
9:29 am – Sheep are out on Highway 69 and Topper west of I-35.
11:55 am – Complaint regarding dog in Jamesport, same dog that Sheriff and deputy have been checking on.
5:27 pm – Stranded motorist on I-35 at the 78mm.

10:24 am – Out on complaint regarding dog in Jamesport.
4:20 pm – Jamie King, 29, Jamesport, was arrested in Caldwell County on a Daviess County warrant for probation violation on original charges of driving without valid license. King was transferred to DDCRJ on $5,000 cash bond.
4:55 pm – Report of two young girls walking on Highway 6 east of Gallatin.
5:07 pm – With above, giving ride home.
6:06 pm – Sheriff’s Office arrested subject in Gallatin and transferred to DDCRJ for 24-hour investigative hold.
6:18 pm – Complaint of driver on Highway 190 speeding and passing on hill.
