Dr. Julie Hefley, Jameson, will teach communication arts for 7-12. Ms. Hefley was born and raised in Hamilton and graduated from Penney High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University; her master’s degree from University of Central Missouri (CMSU); and her doctorate from the University of Missouri. She previously taught at North Central Missouri College for 20 years and NWMSU for five years. Her husband, Vance, is vice-president at the Hamilton Bank. Their children are Kyle, a 2005 graduate of Gallatin High School, Kayle (2009 GHS) and Kaitlyn, 2014 GHS.
Dylan Reno, 24, Gallatin, will teach fifth and sixth grade. Born at Liberty Hospital and raised in Cameron, Mr. Reno graduated from Cameron High School. He received his degree in elementary education from Missouri Western State University. He student taught at Cameron and previously taught at Mirabile C-1 for half a year, and at New York School District for one year. He previously worked at WalMart Supercenter Store 109.
RayAnn Armstrong, 24, Bethany, will teach agricultural education. She will teach exploratory ag for 7th and 8th grade and ag for 9-12. Born and raised in Cameron, Ms. Armstrong graduated from Cameron R-1 High School. She received her degrees in agricultural education and agricultural business from Northwest Missouri State University. She student taught at Trenton.
Ute Cook, 60, Jameson, was born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany. She graduated from high school in Raunheim, Germany. She received her nursing degree/R.N. from Frankfurt, Germany. Ms. Cook has worked for 45 years in health care, including 38 years working in nursing homes in Germany and seven years in the U.S. Her husband, James Cook, is retired from North Daviess School. Their children are Tamara, 37, and Alexander, 33. They have four stepchildren, James, Melissa, Cody and Crystal.
Bonnie Yates, Trenton, will teach library media for preschool through sixth grade. Ms. Yates was born at Turner Air Force Base in Georgia, and raised on military installations. She graduated high school at Lighthouse Christian Academy in Gulfport, Miss. She received her bachelor’s degree from MST and her master’s degree from NWMSU. She previously taught at Marshall High School.
Jeffrey Epperly, 29, Albany, will teach physical education for K-12. Mr. Epperly was born and raised in Nixa and graduated from Ozark High School. He attended college at Avila University and received a B.S. degree in sports science human performance. He has worked as a personal trainer. His wife, Megan, is an occupational therapist. They have three children, Maddix, 6, Kennedi, 6, and Ava, 4.
Jonathan Michael Elder, 27, Melbourne, will teach business and computer science for grades 7-12. Born and raised in the local area, Mr. Elder attended school at Coffey for elementary and Gilman City High School. He was stationed in Abilene, Tex., for six years and returned after his enlistment. He attended college at DeVry and Keller Graduate School of Management. He received a B.S. degree in simulation programming and design, and a master’s degree in business administration. His work experience is with the Air Force. He was an SSgt in charge of three troops and swing shift lead. His job responsibilities were to service, inspect, and repair C-130 aircraft. He trained multiple individuals in courses dealing with G081, safety, OJT and EoC’s. His wife, Hannah, works with Fargo Assembly of PA, INC, in Bethany. She assembles wiring harnesses for Harley Davidson motorcycles. Their children are Seth William, 10, and Mariah Dawn, 5.
Annette Wilson, 44, Cameron, will teach music/band for K-12. Born and raised in Cameron, Ms. Wilson graduated from high school there. She received her bachelor of science degree in education at Missouri Western State University and her master of arts and doctor of musical arts in clarinet performance/pedagogy from the University of Iowa. She previously taught at Montrose. Her husband, Jim Wilson, Jr., is a student, studying respiratory therapy. They have two children, Adam, 10, and Abigail, 8.
Sandra Wallace, 52, Trenton, will teach first and second grade. Born and raised in Richmond, Ms. Wallace graduated from its high school. She received a B.S. degree from Wentworth College and Missouri Valley. She taught at Norborne. She has one son, Joshua Wallace, 24.
