Morgan Corwin was honored during a Court of Honor ceremony on Aug. 7 at Dockery Park for achieving his rank of Eagle Scout. District 2 State Representative J. Eggleston presented Morgan a House Courtesy Resolution in honor of his reaching the Boy Scout’s highest attainable rank.

Morgan’s family and friends, Representative Eggleston, and members of Boy Scout Troop 67 gathered at Dockery Park for the ceremony.

Morgan’s Eagle Scout project entailed beautification of Dockery Park. He cleared debris and trees from the walking trail at Dockery Park, rebuilt bridge rail over a creek bed, laid nearly 1,500 feet of new mulch on the trail, built and placed signs for the two entrances to the trail, and placed geocache along the trail for individuals to find.

“I know the time and incredible effort it takes to complete the projects to earn Eagle Scout,” said Rep. Eggleston. “I was proud to present a resolution to my young constituent, acknowledging his accomplishment. My congratulations to the Corwin family.”

Morgan remarked, “Receiving my Eagle Scout Award is an honor.  I have enjoyed every experience in Scouting I have been a part of and have made many long-time friendships. ”

Scout Master, Mark Corwin, commented, “Vicki and I are very proud of Morgan and his accomplishments in Scouting.  He has followed the path of his two older brothers in becoming an Eagle Scout and continues to be a leader for his younger brother and others in Troop 67.
