Pattonsburg R-2 School Superintendent Scott Ireland reported the district has been approved for a loan for energy efficient lighting in all classrooms in the amount of $152,100. The loan is part of the Energy Loan Program from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

Mr. Ireland met with McKinstry to go over the new building plans. The construction project is scheduled to begin around October.

In other business at the July 21 meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Education, the Tax Rate Hearing was set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 18.

The district is still looking for a special education instructor.

A special meeting will be set for board refresher training and to set goals for five years out.

Dairy bid was approved with Anderson Erickson.

Contracted transportation for vocational-technical (Winston) was approved.

The 2016-17 district fees/prices/tuition rates were approved.

Eligibility for free/reduced meals was adopted for 2016-17. Breakfast and lunch both went up 10 cents.

An executive session was held to discuss personnel, student matters, and legal issues.

The position of boy’s junior high basketball coach was offered to Alan McCrary.
