Over 300 people came to the open house for the new middle school at Gallatin held on Monday, Aug. 8. Construction on the school was completed in mid-May of 2016. Pictured cutting the ribbon are, left to right, R-5 Board of Education members, Jeff Donovan, Jessie Bird, Trent Dowell, Tim Bradford (present but not pictured Amy Heldenbrand); Middle School Principal Tiffany Otto; Superintendent Bryan Copple; and former Superintendent Dennis Croy. Dr. Copple said the rain had delayed the asphalt work on the new parking lot, but Herzog Contracting Corporation would begin as soon as things dry out. He added that he had received positive feedback from those attending the open house. The community was excited to see the new building and looking forward to school starting.
