The Gallatin License Office is closing at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, and will not be open again in the near future.
The Missouri Department of Revenue oversees license offices across the state which are each operated by independent agents.
The Gallatin office has been contracted by Heather Duvall since 2011. Duvall resides in Sullivan County and operates the Milan License Office. Jessica Griffin was employed by Duvall as the lone employee of the Gallatin office. The office is closing due to Griffin’s resignation to accept other employment.
Duvall said she does not plan to rebid on the contract for the Gallatin office.
The Department of Revenue is now in the process of working with the Office of Administration to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Gallatin License Office. It is anticipated that the RFP will be issued as quickly as possible. Bidders will be given approximately four weeks to submit a bid/proposal.
A notice will be posted on the Missouri Office of Administration website, and the Missouri Department of Revenue will send out a news release to notify prospective bidders.
A number of factors will affect the amount of time that passes before another contractor is established, such as the number of bids received, if any, and if the bid(s) meets the minimum requirements.
The time required to train for the position depends on the personnel experience the winning bidder proposes. Each contract is specific to what the bidder has proposed in their bid.
