Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Incident Summary

A Kansas City man is being held on a Daviess County charge of tampering with motor vehicle after allegedly stealing a 1997 Chrysler Concorde from a residence on Santa Rosa Road in Cameron on June 5. According to the probable cause report, Christopher Crosthwait was identified driving the stolen vehicle at Landes Oil in Jamesport on June 6. The probable cause report was prepared by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s office. Crosthwait was released by Caldwell County on July 28, but remained in custody at DDCRJ on the Daviess County charge. He was arraigned on Aug. 2. Bond is set at $35,000.

7:07 am – Report of car on fire on Highway 69 north of Cameron.

11:30 am – MSHP arrested Joshua Roen, 27, Minneapolis, MN, for class C felony possession of controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana/paraphernalia. Roen was transferred to DDCRJ on $35,000 bond.

1:44 am – Domestic disturbance in Altamont.

7:37 pm – Report of assault that occurred earlier in Jamesport.

8:10 am – Report of abandoned car on Highway BB north of Cameron.

1:43 pm – Sheriff’s Office (SO) arrested subject on 24-hour investigative hold. Charges to follow.

4:20 pm – Caldwell County advising they are releasing Christopher Crosthwait, 49, Kansas City, MO, from custody.  Crosthwait remained in custody at DDCRJ for  class C felony tampering with motor vehicle in Daviess County. Bond is set at $35,000.

9:04 pm – Report of peace disturbance in Jamesport.

1:30 pm – Charges were filed on Larry Sprague, 73, Coffey, for two counts of class B felony child molestation, two counts of felony statutory rape, misdemeanor assault, and felony attempted statutory rape. Sprague was put on 24-hour investigative hold on 7-28-16. Bond is set at $100,000 cash.

2:25 pm – MSHP arrested Steven Gray, 25, Kansas City, MO, for FTA on traffic violation from Andrew County.  Gray posted $450 cash bond and was released.

8:50 pm – Assisting  DFS with home visit.

12:37 am – Assisting Gallatin Police Dept.

12:21 pm – Complaint of animal cruelty in Jamesport.

2:16 pm – C&I driver westbound 6 Highway from Jamesport.

3:58 pm – MSHP arrested Zachariah R. Sample, 23, Des Moines, Iowa, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Sample was transported to DDCRJ where bond of $250 was posted and he was released.

6:44 pm – Stranded motorist on I-35.

9:42 pm – Out of control teenager in Coffey.

10:09 pm – Calf out on Highway O east of Gallatin.

10:39 pm – Cow out on Highway P west of Highway 13.

1:34 am – MSHP requesting assistance with traffic stop south of Winston.

8:11 am – Stranded motorist on I-35.

12:50 pm – SO arrested Yor Sholl Yor, 51, Olathe, KS, for driving while suspended, misdemeanor A.  Yor was transported to the SO where bond of $500 was posted and he was released.

1:28 pm – Grundy County advising of non-injury car vs. buggy accident on Highway 6.

10:04 pm – MSHP arrested Jordan Michael McGilvra, 17, Des Moines, Iowa, for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor A. Bond is set at $350 cash.

5:28 am – Water across roadway Highway 13 south of Jameson.

5:32 am – Water across roadway Highway B east of Coffey.

5:38 am – Reports of water over the road on Highway 13 south of Jameson in several places.

6:22 am –Water over roadway Highway V and 190.

3:20 pm – Assisting DFS with home visit.
