James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, met with commissioners. The crew is completing finishing work on the bridge on 292nd Street. Corrugated metal pipe placements around the county are the next projects that crews will be working on.

David Cox moved to pay the bill from Trenton Coke for $1,142.40 for bottled water from the emergency funds. The bill was incurred due to the PWSD #1 water outage. Carl Carder seconded. Motion carried.

Bids for roof repairs at Daviess County Nursing & Rehabilitation were opened. The following individuals attended the opening: Doug Boe, River Bluff Architectures; Jermain Butts, Roofers Local #20; Steve Drennen, Roberts Roofing Company; John Troyer, John Troyer Roofing Contractors; and John Kramer, Kramer Contracting Company.

The bids were as follows: Bid #1 — Kramer Contracting (Ishmael as contractor); Bid #2 — Kramer Contracting (Kauffman as contractor); Bid #3 — Roberts Roofing Co. Inc.; Bid #4 — Houseman’s Metal Works & Roofing: Bid #5 — John Troyer Roofing Contractors, bid was read and taken under advisement as bid was not sealed or completed per instructions.

Roger Barker, Missouri Rural Water Board Member, discussed various issues with commissioners about the water situation in Daviess County.

Commissioners signed an agreement with McWilliams Family Funeral Home, Inc. for disposition of an indigent within the county.

Commissioners signed Progress Invoice No. 4 for BRO-B031 (36) Bridge No. 43100221 and Progress Invoice No. 4 for BRO-B031 (37) Bridge No. 43100081 from Howe & Company.

Jeremiah Turner and John Plaster from MARCO discussed phone systems for the courthouse.

Prosecuting Attorney Annie Gibson discussed the Victims Crime Act grant. Commissioners signed grant assurances.

Bids for BRO-B031 (35) will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 24.

Commissioners attended a meeting in Trenton with economic developer, Ralph Boots.

Commissioners inspected roads, bridges & brush in Union and Jamesport Townships.

These are the unapproved minutes of July 27, 2016. All commissioners were in attendance. Minutes were approved, and bills authorized.

Circuit Court

Civil cases filed: Department of Revenue vs. Mark A. Smith d/b/a Smith Auto Repair, injunction. Department of Revenue Collections Enforcement has filed certificates of lien, DOR, taxes, against Jeffery C. Purdy, Gallatin, and Derek Dunster, Liberty. Roberta Compton, Jameson, filed a breach of written warranty against Ford Motor Company.

Associate Division

Braden Christopher Beckwith, Mulvane, Kan., was charged July 26 with possession of controlled substance, class C felony, and misdemeanors of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and failure to maintain financial responsibility. Beckwith was stopped for speeding at the 64 mile marker on I-35 in Daviess County on July 25 and arrested after a consent search revealed drugs and paraphernalia.

Civil Court

Small Claims: In Cynthia Hill vs. Judith and Wilbur Bush, the court found for the defendant, Judith Bush, on the original claim, and for the plaintiff, Cynthia Hill, on the counterclaim.
