Wow is the only word to describe Vacation Bible School at the Baptist Church in Jamesport held July 20-22. Both Jamesport’s Baptist and Methodist churches joined for VBS this year.

The VBS children reached out for two missions. One mission was to collect Teddy Bears for the Daviess County Police Department to give out to children. The other mission was to put together a basket of treats for the Daviess County Nursing Home.
The three-day event was filled with lessons, music, games, crafts and delicious lunch and snacks. There were approximately 42 children attending each day and six high school student helpers.
Every day the students were entertained with a missions segment. Uwe Maurer did the mission lesson on Wednesday and Thursday and Bev Martin held Friday’s mission.
The children really enjoyed this time, especially learning a little Chinese and getting a chance to taste some snacks from their culture. A few children loved eating the seaweed but the majority vote was that seaweed would not be their favorite snack!
