As you may read in this week edition of the Gallatin North Missourian and on the case.net website, the Missouri Department of Revenue has filed a Certificate of Lien against the Gallatin First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for failing to properly file payroll taxes. This lien was filed in error by the Missouri Department of Revenue after our third quarter tax filing was posted by the Department of Revenue as a monthly return instead of a quarterly return; therefore it appeared as if we had not filed our taxes properly. In discussion with a Department of Revenue it was determined that all our payroll taxes are filed correctly and paid in full. The Missouri Department of Revenue has assured us that once they make the correction to their records the lien will be withdrawn. It is unfortunate that this lien was filed and published; I felt it very important to explain the circumstances and assure everyone that our congregation is current on all taxes and we are striving each day to be good stewards the resources the Lord provides through the generous gifts we receive from our members and the Gallatin community. Thank You. Pastor Russ Hamilton
Dear Editor:
Just wanted to say how much your covering our church window’s “sadness” meant to me. I’m the oldest, age-wise, and now the oldest member. We were married there in 1946 and each one of our four children were baptized there. I’m still an elder as I have been for over 15 years.
That window was a constant joy to (husband) Tut and me. Tut sang in the choir and looked at that window for many years. I have a piece saved for each of our children and a little piece for Tut’s grave, and also a copy for each of your newspaper.
Thank you from all four of my children, located all over the U.S.. Best wishes and God bless.

Dear Editor:
I think it would be nice if the citizens of our town would show support for the men and women who work for law enforcement. There have been so many that have lost their lives recently. We should also include the fire department, first responders, and ambulance crews in the support.
We need to show our support by displaying the color dark blue in our yards and places of business. It would also be nice to put a display of blue ribbons around the courthouse square. I am sure the law officers would appreciate even a thank you. We take all the people that work in these positions for granted until we need them.
