Save the Date for the closing ceremonies and Parasol Puppets at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, at the Daviess County Library in Gallatin. The library has offered a variety of programming, such as Pre-K Story Time, bingo, visits by the Gallatin Fire Department, bicycle safety classes by the Gallatin Police, fitness and nutrition classes by the University of Missouri Extension office, ABCmouse.com, pronunciator.com, themed crafts, movies, games and more. These programs are ongoing through July 30 and will culminate with closing ceremonies, a.k.a. awards, and a puppet show with Parasol Puppets by Peter and Debbie Allen.
Daviess County Library patrons ages pre-kindergarten through middle school still have time to enjoy the 2016 Summer Reading Program. The program began on May 29 and runs through July 30. This year’s theme is “On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!” Participants must track their reading and turn in totals by the July 30 deadline to earn prizes and book report credits through the respective county schools.
