James Lewis, Road & Bridge Supervisor, and crew continue working on the bridge on 292nd Street this week.

The Board of Equalization meeting is rescheduled from July 13 to July 20 at 8:30 a.m.

Coroner David McWilliams discussed indigent funding from the coroner’s budget.

Commissioners signed temporary construction easement and permanent easements for Bridge Project BRO-B031(36) Bridge No. 43100222, agreement with Harrington Family LLC.

Brandon Grooms, Sheridan Township, discussed Zane Avenue in Sheridan and Colfax Townships. The section of road (except 1.2 miles from 185th Street on the east section of Zane Avenue) is located in Sheridan Township, Section 31. The commissioners asked that Mr. Grooms speak with the township board regarding this issue.

Ron Urton, Howe and Company, was contacted for engineering services for laying asphalt on Quick Avenue into Landmark Manufacturing.

The commissioners visited Jamesport, Liberty, Harrison, Sheridan, and Union Townships to view bridges, brush issues and culverts.

These are the unapproved minutes of July 13, 2016. All commissioners were present. Minutes were approved, and bills authorized.

Circuit Court

The following cases were heard by Judge Thomas Chapman on July 13:

Probation was revoked for Rachel R. Dolan on a c felony charge of possession of controlled substance. Her seven-year sentence was ordered executed.

Benton Duane Simpson was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant, and the case was continued to Aug. 10.

Justin K. Blackburn had previously plead guilty on May 11 to DWI, class C felony. He was sentenced to seven years in the Department of Corrections, execution of sentence suspended. He was placed on five years probation and fined $500.

A jury trial was set for Aug. 12 for Erick Manning on a C felony charge of receiving stolen property.

Dakota J. Smith plead guilty to hindering prosecution of a felony, class D felony, and was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections. Execution of the sentence was suspended, and he received five years probation and 120 days shock jail time with credit for time served. For misdemeanor resisting arrest, he was sentenced to 140 days jail with credit for time served. He was fined $300 for misdemeanor no valid license.

Tyler M. Wood plead guilty to tampering with a motor vehicle, class C felony, and resisting arrest, class D felony. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Michael Bunch had previously plead guilty on May 11 to possession of controlled substance, class C felony. He received a suspended imposition of sentence and five years probation.

A jury trial was set for Sean Osborn on Dec. 8-9, 2016, on a class B felony count of elder abuse.

James V. Williams plead guilty to possession of controlled substance, class C felony, and was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections. On each of three misdemeanor charges, DWI-drug intoxication, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, he was sentenced to 150 days jail with credit for time served, sentences to run concurrently.

Civil cases filed: The Department of Revenue, Collections Enforcement, has filed certificates of lien, DOR, taxes, against Philip A. Berry, Gallatin; Ray A. Bashford, Gallatin; Phil Morrell, Gallatin; Morrell Legacy Hospitality, Gallatin; Legacy LLC Morrell, Holladay, Utah; Judith McCloud, Gallatin; and Bob Bowen, Jamesport.

Associate Circuit Court

Defendants found guilty to the Associate Division of the Circuit court of Daviess County, Missouri, are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $68.50 for moving traffic violations and $116.50 in most criminal cases. Judge Daren L. Adkins presided over the following cases:

Travis Evans, St. Joseph, assault, 30 days jail, $25.

Daniel Wiecki, Phoenix, Ariz., two counts of possession of marijuana, $300 on each; possession of drug paraphernalia, $150.

Logan Newfarmer, Derby, Kan., driving while intoxicated, $350.

Jeffrey Rainey, Gallatin, careless and imprudent driving, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, 32 hours community service.

Carter Thomas, Bethany, minor visibly intoxicated, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, 30 hours community service.

Cory Brown, Baraboo, Wis., no valid license, $300; speeding, $55.50; no insurance, $103.50.

Russell Hogan, Iowa, IA, possession of marijuana, $300; possession of drug paraphernalia, $150.

Civil Court

Breach of contract: A default judgment was entered for Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC and against Philip A. Berry.

Suits on account: Midland Funding LLC vs. Beverly Hunter and Crittenton vs. Richard Mooney et al were dismissed by the parties. New Liberty Hospital vs. Judith A. Stevens et al was dismissed by the parties.
