Several scams are circulating about in Daviess County. Please do not give any personal information such as your social security number, bank account/credit card information to anyone over the phone.
If you are asked to verify your personal information, ask the caller to give you the information that they have, and you tell them if it is correct or not. If they continue to call, tell them that you have alerted your local law enforcement agency (even if you do not notify law enforcement.) This will usually end the conversation.
Always use great caution with anyone requesting personal information.

8:10 am – Sheriff’s Office out to check on home alarm going off. All ok.
9:51 am – Sheriff out in Winston.
11:30 am – Deputy in Winston to take report of possible stealing.
11:34 am – Controlled burn Highway DD.
3:18 pm – Caller reporting receiving scam phone call from Publishers Clearinghouse stating that they won two million dollars. Call came from 1-876-467-2111.
3:37 pm – A Daviess County warrant was issued on Randall Gale Fletchall, 52, Bethany, with charges of possession of controlled substance, felony C, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor A. Bond is set at $35,000.
3:19 pm – C&I semi southbound I-35 near 68mm.
3:58 pm – MSHP arrested Logan D. Van Zandte, 32, Pella, Iowa, for possession of marijuana, misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor. Zandte was transported to the DDCRJ where bond of $750 was posted and he was released.

12:15 am – Buchanan County advising that they have Shannon Lester Dice, 44, Cameron, in custody on a Daviess County warrant for FTA on original charges of DWI, misdemeanor A. Bond of $500 was posted.
8:22 am – Cows out Highway P.
9 am – Court in session.
11:30 am – Report of abandoned truck in Coffey.
12:42 pm – Above vehicle unfounded.
12:15 pm – Sheriff in Jamesport on call.
2:22 pm – At Winston Truck Stop on follow-up.
9:36 pm – Controlled burn in Lock Springs.

4:09 pm – Report of individual walking northbound I-35.
6:59 pm – C&I driver 6 Highway.
8:34 pm – Car vs. deer.
10:20 pm – Cow out on P Highway.
10:26 pm – Daviess County Sheriff’s Office arrested Courtney Marie Miles, 23, Kearney, for DWI, misdemeanor B, possession of marijuana, misdemeanor A, and possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor A. Miles was transported to the DDCRJ for a 12-hour detoxification, and then released.
10:37 pm – Daviess County Sheriff’s Office arrested Cody Dillon Reffitt, 23, Excelsior Springs, for possession of marijuana less than 35g and possession of drug paraphernalia. Reffitt was released with a summons.

2:36 am – C&I semi southbound I-35 near 74mm.
3:45 am – Report of suspicious individuals in Winston.
10:17 am – C&I driver southbound I-35 near 61mm.
5:37 pm – Cass County advising that they have Nathaniel Hardage Jr., 35, Lee’s Summit, in custody on a Daviess County FTA warrant on original charges of no valid license. Hardage was transported to the DDCRJ where bond of $600 was posted and he was released.

3:24 am – Verbal altercation southbound I-35 near 68mm.
3:42 am – Sheriff’s Office on scene of above.
4:27 am – Daviess County Sheriff’s Office arrested Billy Joe Rutledge, 35, Liberty. A warrant was issued with charges of DWI, misdemeanor B, two counts of endangering welfare of a child, misdemeanor A. Bond of $2,000 was posted and he was released.
11:48 am – Individual out of vehicle northbound I-35 near 64mm.
3:37 pm – MSHP arrested Kristine Luna, 23, Kansas City, for no valid license. Luna was transported to the DDCRJ where bond of $300 was posted and she was released.
6:51 pm – MSHP arrested Horace J. Watkins, 45, Oak Park, Mich. Watkins was transported to the DDCRJ where a warrant was issued with charges of driving while revoked, misdemeanor unclassified, and speeding, misdemeanor C. Bond of $500 was posted and he was released.
7:30 pm – Daviess County Sheriff’s Office arrested Barry L. Patterson, 31, Oak Park, Mich. Patterson was transported to the DDCRJ where a warrant was issued with charges of operating vehicle without valid license, 3rd Offense, felony D, and operating vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility, misdemeanor unclassified. Bond of $15,000 with 10% allowed was posted and he was released.
11:40 pm – C&I truck at the Altamont Junction.

2:11 am – Noise complaint Lake Viking.
7:17 am – C&I vehicle Highway BB.
11:19 am – MSHP took one male into custody.
12:41 pm – Daviess County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mellissa L. Daly, 42, Kansas City on two warrants. On Livingston County FTA warrant, bond of $500 was posted, and on Saint Joseph Municipal FTA warrant, bond of $180 was posted and she was released.
2:32 pm – MSHP took one female into custody on a 24-hour investigative hold pending issuance of warrant.
2:45 pm – MSHP took one male into custody on a 24-hour investigative hold pending issuance of warrant.
5:04 pm – Sheriff’s Office assist medical call with Lifeflight.
9:54 pm – Possible intoxicated individuals handling fireworks.
10:06 pm – Sheriff’s Office on above. All ok.
11:08 pm – Vehicle in ditch.
