Independence Day will be celebrated at Lake Viking with activities slated throughout Saturday, July 2.

Lake Viking Lions Club will serve breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon in the lower level of the clubhouse on both Saturday and Sunday. Choose between a pancake breakfast on Saturday or biscuits and gravy on Sunday … or go both days! Kids age 5 and under are free. Children ages 5-12 will be charged $5 per plate and adults $7 per plate.

Upstairs a bazaar will unfold from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Vendors are still lining up for a $5 set-up fee. For more information about the bazaar or to make a reservation, call Bonnie at 663-5233 or Marian at 663-3395.

The 11th Annual Boat Parade starts at 3 p.m. at the Yacht Club. The best entry will receive the coveted traveling trophy.

Celebrations climax with a great public fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.  Those attending should note that the road at the top of the hill next to the clubhouse will be closed at 8 p.m.; association members will vacate Beach #1, the pool and lawn area and no boats will be allowed within 700 feet of the shore at Beach #1 and the clubhouse area during the fireworks.
